I'm Blue

Saturday was a much needed day off work and we celebrated by heading out to lunch.  One of my favorite foods is the sandwich and one of Mike's favorites foods is pizza, so he found a place that combines the two.  We went to Blue Baker.  It was really cutely designed and decorated with everything being in various shades of blue.  They had a great menu with various sandwiches, pizzas, and baked goods to choose from.  While we were waiting to order, we sampled some delicious pumpkin bread and peanut butter cookies.  Mike ordered the three meat pizza and I got the Powder Blue sandwich.  Mike's pizza was yummy with sausage, pepperoni, and bacon.  My sandwich had turkey, provolone, spinach, onions, tomatoes, roasted red peppers, and mustard.  Everything we ate was tasty and very fresh.  We were very happy with our meals. We each also ordered a cookie as well.  My peanut butter cookie was so moist and tender.  Mike's chocolate cookie was pretty great as well.  Our food was delicious and is obviously becoming a popular spot in Austin, as it was quite crowded the day we went.  I can't wait to go back and try more of the various baked items.

Midnight at the Oasis

On Saturday I lucked out and didn't have to work as long as I thought.  I had nothing planned for dinner so we decided to go out.  We knew we wanted to stay close to home as I was tired and maybe a little crabby.  :)  So we narrowed it down to a few choices and opted for Oasis Mediterranean and Pizza.  It was very close to our apartment so that was nice, but still allowed us to do a little exploring.  It was in a little shopping center and we probably would have missed it if we weren't looking for it.  Once we got there, I knew that I wanted to try some pizza.  Mike had a conversation with coworkers talking about the best kinds of pizza and it had me thinking about pizza.  We ordered the Super Hamburger Pizza and Caesar salad.  We waited for about 15-20 minutes and our food was ready.  Normally, it makes me a little nervous when we are the only customers in a place, but it was a little later and I was hungry so I didn't really care.  The food was great!  The Caesar salad was refreshing on a hot Texas day and the pizza was yummy!  It had a medium thickness crust with red sauce, cheese, hamburger, onions, and tomato slices.  We were able to make a meal of the salad and pizza and Mike still had some left for Sunday's lunch.  In the future, we can't wait to try their Mediterranean food, but for Saturday, we were very happy with the pizza and salad.

Flem-boyant

Last Tuesday was our second wedding anniversary, so we felt that it was necessary to go out for a celebration.  We opted not to do our old favorite of the Melting Pot and we weren't able to go to Wild Horse Grill, so we tried Flemings in the Domain.  We arrived and were very impressed by the atmosphere- it was very chic and romantic.  The hostess informed us that the restaurant was full of people celebrating their anniversaries on that night.  The entire staff was very polite and prompt with service.  We started off with a bottle of Loosen Brothers Riesling along with bread and caesar salads.  The wine was perfect-not too sweet or too dry.  It was also from the year we got married, which I thought was pretty neat.  The salads were good and the bread was amazing.  In addition to its great flavor, it came with delicious flavored butters.  We each ordered filets and we split sides of Fleming's potatoes and macaroni and cheese.  The filets were tender, moist and perfectly cooked.  I loved the Flemings potatoes, which were a potato au gratin with jalapenos.  The mac and cheese had a great chipotle flavor.  Since it was a special occasion, we had to have dessert.  We ordered the Chocolate Lava Cake, which was served with ice cream.  It was rich and fabulous.  To top the meal off, Flemings gave us chocolate truffles and a gift card to return.  We had a great dinner, which we followed with a stroll in the Domain.  It was a wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary.

No Need to Wear a Thai

A few weeks ago, Mike and I went to eat at Chang Thai.  Unfortunately due to some technical issues and being a little busy working, I haven't had a chance to blog until today.  Chang Thai is located near my favorite fro yo place, so we'd seen it several times, but hadn't tried it yet.  We had some good reviews from Yelp and decided to give it a chance.  It was not crowded at all so we got premium service.  We started off with the fresh rolls, which were interesting.  They had some good flavor, but were a little heavy on the mint.  I liked the peanut dipping sauce.  I ordered the pad thai, one of my favorites!  Mike got the spicy basil fried rice.  We were both very happy with our meals.  Mine had great flavor and I ate almost all of it.  I saved a little so that I would have room for fro yo.  Mike's was good too, the perfect level of spice for him.  We both really enjoyed our food and the casual, quiet atmosphere.  Mike liked it so much that he brought his coworkers back for lunch.  We will definitely go back and sample more of this menu.

Give Me a B

This Saturday we spent the day driving all over Austin, heading to various places.  On our way home, we stopped by BJ's Brewhouse for dinner.  We were seated immediately and ordered beer right away.  They are from the same chain as restaurants as the Cheesecake Factory and have an equally huge menu.  I knew I wanted to try a dessert, so we skipped an appetizer this time.  We opted to split a Buffalo Chicken Pizza.  We ordered a small, which was the perfect size for the two of us.  It was a deep dish style pizza and had excellent flavor.  We love all things buffalo chicken and this was no exception!   For dessert, we wanted to try a pizzookie.  What's a pizzookie?  Its a cookie cooked in a deep dish pizza pan.  We couldn't decide between Triple Chocolate and Red Velvet, so our waitress had them do half and half.  It was amazing.  The 2 flavors mixed well together and were great with the topping of chocolate and vanilla ice cream.  We were very full afterwards, a definite sign that we enjoyed our meal.

West Side Story

Last Monday, we had an impromptu visit from our friends, Ashley, Jason, and Mildred.  We were all so excited to get to hang out on Sunday and Monday!  Monday night, before they left, Jason suggested we try the newly opened, Westside Alehouse.  Mike and I had driven by several times and commented on going there, but had never had the opportunity until this point.  Its located a few exits north of us in Round Rock.  The restaurant was pretty big, open and had immediate seating available.  The boys were really pleased with the large beer selection.  First we ordered beers and appetizers.  Ashley and Mike shared the fried pickles (ew), which I am told were good.  Jason and I split the sauerkraut balls, which were amazing!  The appetizers were so good and filling that we were definitely looking forward to our meals.  Jason and Ashley ordered the wings, which I am told were enjoyable.  Mike and I each got sandwiches-the club for him and turkey for me.  Our sandwiches (especially mine) were quite delicious, but we felt the fries were lacking a little bit.  After all the food and beer, you'd think we were done, but no, Ashley had  her heart set on the fried Kit-Kat dessert.  It was really good and we were all surprised by the hint of cinnamon that made it taste a little bit like a churro.  We will definitely be heading back, perhaps for trivia nights, which are hosted each week.

Pfestival Pfun in Pflugerville

Last weekend was the Deutschen Pfest in Pflugerville.  I thought it would be fun to attend and see what it was all about.  It reminded me a little bit of Florissant's Valley of the Flowers (from what I remember, I haven't been since I was really young).  It was being held in a park in Pflugerville.  We drove to Pflugerville HS and caught the shuttle (school bus) to the park, as there was no parking there.  We paid the admission fee, which went to the parks department.  Inside, there were crafts, booths from local businesses, kids activities, games, rides, and food.  We walked around several times before choosing our foods.  I got a pretzel and fresh lemonade and then a sno-cone.  Mike picked a gyro, apple fritters, and rootbeer.  The food was great and it was a neat event.  It started getting pretty hot so we left after a few hours.  I took a long nap afterwards because I was so hot and tired.  When I woke up I felt much better, except for my first hint of a sunburn this year.  Pfun times.

Iron Man and Maiden

Last Friday, I was quite excited after scoring a new job and the definite prospects for a second one, so we decided to go out to dinner to celebrate.  We were headed out to North by Northwest for some delicious food and beer, but upon arrival realized it wasn't happening that night.  There was a rehearsal dinner going on and there were no places to park.  Bummer.  So, we headed next door to the Iron Cactus.  We were able to get seated right away in the bar area, where live instrumental music was playing.  We ordered drinks first, a beer for Mike and a strawberry swirl margarita for me.  The chips came with two different types of salsa- one was chunky and more traditional flavored and the other was pureed and smoky flavored.  We ordered queso as an appetizer and were very happy with our decision.  It was so yummy.  For our main dish, we ordered the fajitas for two with a combination of steak and chicken.  When our food arrived, I was amazed at the sheer amount of it.  We had a huge skillet of meat and veggies.  We each got our own rice, beans, cheese, guacamole, pico, and sour cream.  We also got some wonderful homemade tortillas.  The fajitas were amazing.  The meat was so juicy and flavorful.  We were quite stuffed after dinner, plus we had some leftovers for lunch the next day.  It was a great choice, even if by accident.

Ragin' Cajun

Yesterday was the 7 year anniversary of our first date.  This year we were not able to able to go to "our" restaurant, Wild Horse Grill.  So, Mike looked for new places for us to try.  His first choice was Cajun Pizza Place.  We had driven by it several times on our way to other places and have often commented that we should try it.  When we arrived, I was a little nervous as we were the only people there at 6:30, but several more people showed up while we waited.  The decor was cute-there was lots of LSU and Saints memorabilia.  Zydeco music was coming from the speakers and our waitress had a Southern accent-it was almost like we had stumbled upon a secret New Orleans hang out.  We have yet to find the perfect pizza place here and we knew it wouldn't be like Arcobasso's, but we constantly try to find a good one.  We ordered a large salad to split, ice tea (unsweet for me, sweet for him-gross), and the Cajun Chicken pizza.  The salad was simple, but good.  It had cheese, ham (shredded finely), and olives.  The house dressing was a tangy Italian that perfected the salad.  I was really excited when our pizza arrived.  It had a very thin crust, lightly sauced, cheese, garlic chicken, onions, green pepper, and jalapenos.  It was so good- definitely a different kind of pizza.  We finished off most of it-leaving just enough leftover for my lunch today.  We both commented that we have definitely grown a lot in our tastes over the past 10.5 months here in Austin.  We look forward to going back to Cajun Pizza Place again and taking our friends.

Who's House? Garcia's House

On Sunday, we didn't really have any meals planned for dinner and I was not feeling leftovers.  We knew we wanted to try something new, but weren't sure what.  We looked at Yelp for nearby places and my husband decided we should try Casa Garcia's in Pflugerville.  It was a small and simple restaurant.  There were several groups of people there and an empty bar area.  We ordered after a bit.  I got the chicken fajitas and Mike ordered the tamales.  The chips were okay, but not salty enough.  I really liked the salsa-it had flavor without being overly spicy.  When our food arrived,  I was ready.  My meal was really good, but the best part was the homemade tortillas.  They were probably the best tortillas I've ever had.  Mike really liked his tamales, too.  We will likely go back for a quick Mexican meal that is close, but it wasn't the best Mexican food we've ever had.

Hoody Hoo?

This past Saturday, we woke up in the mood for sandwiches.  We turned to our trusty app, Yelp, for some nearby suggestions for a new place.  Yelp recommended Hoody's Sub Shop in Round Rock and told us that they were famous for their East Coast Subs.  So, we got ready and loaded up for the short trip to Round Rock.  We passed Hoody's on the first try as it was hidden in a strip mall.  We arrived and realized it was pretty tiny.  It was really cute with various sports memorabilia on the walls, much of it signed by athletes.  The menu was pretty simple, but did offer several choices.  Mike opted for the philly cheesesteak and I ordered the chicken cheesesteak.  We each got chips, sodas, and Tasty Kakes as well.  The sandwiches were delicious.  They had great flavor and were so gooey.  The Tasty Kakes were also something new to us.  Apparently, they are an East Coast treat.  I tried butterscotch and Mike got the chocolate cupcake.  Mine were actually a little bit better.  We agreed they tasted like really fresh Little Debbie treats.  We left Hoody's satisfied and full.  We will be making a return trip for sure.

Riding the Short Bus

After living in Austin for nearly 10 months, I finally made it to some of the food trailers.  While my parents were in town, we went down to South Congress one day to check out food at one of the food truck parks.  There were several different trucks to choose from, but my stomach always wants sandwiches so we opted for Short Bus Subs.  It was a really clever idea-a short school bus with menu items relating to school. I selected the Teacher's Pet, which included turkey, cream cheese, bacon, onions, lettuce, tomato, and salsa.  It was so yummy and warm.  We sat outside under the numerous picnic tables with umbrellas.  After lunch, we walked down to Amy's for some delicious ice cream and then headed to Lance Armstrong's bike shop, Mellow Johnny's, for my bike loving parents.  It was a fun day and experience and I definitely will be back to the food trucks to try more great treats.

Which World did You See?

On Saturday, we got up and ready to head out to Sea World.  It was a short drive from the hotel and we were there.  It had been a long time since any of us had been to Sea World and we were told to go in with lower expectations that the Sea World at Orlando or San Diego.  Parking was not really an issue even though it seemed like there was an event going on.  The ticket line was probably the longest line we stood in all day and then we were off.  We started off at the beluga whale show, which was pretty neat.  We walked around the park a lot- working off all those BBQ calories from the night before.  By the end of the day, we went to 3 shows-the beluga show, the sea lion show (my favorite!), and the Shamu show, which was not nearly as cool as it used to be.  We saw penguins (my dad's favorite), dolphins (my mom's favorite), seals, otters, sharks, and flamingos.  We also rode one of the park's roller coasters, which I had not done in many years.  We lunched in the park, but it wasn't anything special.  By late afternoon, we were all getting pretty tired, so we headed back to the hotel before dinner.  For dinner, we already had decided on a place on the Riverwalk called Casa Rio.  It is the oldest restaurant on the Riverwalk.  We did have a bit of a wait and as no surprise to me, my parents met people from St. Louis and Illinois while we were waiting.  We ordered our food and drinks-yay for sangria margaritas!  My chicken enchiladas were pretty good and my margarita was fabulous.  My parents were tired after dinner so they went back to the hotel, while we decided to explore the Riverwalk a little bit more.  We went to the mall, which was okay, but the cool part was that the river flowed through the mall.  We bought my mom a birthday present and then headed back to the hotel.  It was a great weekend and I can't wait to go back to San Antonio for more exploring.

I Went to San Antonio on a Friday

My parents came to visit us about 2 weeks ago and I am finally getting the chance to blog about our adventures.  We left Friday the 13th (yay for no mishaps!) after dropping Cecil off at camp and stopping for some Chik-fil-a.  It took us a few hours to get there, with the worst part being Austin traffic.  We drove straight to the hotel to drop off our car and get our luggage settled in.  The hotel was really cute, new, and very environmentally friendly.  After getting settled, we headed to the Alamo and Riverwalk area for some entertainment.  The Alamo was just a short walk from our hotel and it was pretty interesting.  It was neat to see that something that old was still standing and in relatively good shape.  (Note, we visited on Friday.   On Saturday night, there was an incident with a guy peeing on the Alamo, but we weren't there so we missed out on that fun.)  From the Alamo, we headed down to the Riverwalk.  The Riverwalk is shops, restaurants, and bars surrounding either side of the river.  It was a busy area with a little bit of everything.  There were so many places to choose from, but eventually we settled on the County Line.  We ordered some Jack Cheese Balls and delicious BBQ.  We opted to sit outside and we chose the right table.  The people next to us were "graced" several times by gifts from birds.  After dinner, we walked some more and took a boat tour of the river.  It was nice to get to see the whole area along with history and facts about the river area.  A day isn't complete without ice cream, so we headed to Justin's ice cream for scoops.  I had the mint chip, which was very cool and refreshing.  Mike and I noticed there was a candy place nearby and picked up a dark chocolate peanut butter cup and some peanut butter explosion fudge for a midnight snack.  By this point we were pretty tired and had to get up early to head to Sea World in the morning, so we headed back to bed.

Wok-a, Wok-a

Easter Monday was a grocery shopping day for us.  We had next to nothing in the house to eat, so we decided to head to HEB (huge mistake) and find a place nearby to eat.  Driving around, we opted for Golden Wok, as we like Asian food and had not been there before.  Upon arrival I was a little nervous as there were very few people inside.  While it never got crowded, my fears subsided after eating.  It reminded me a little of PF Changs without the crowds and with lower prices.  I ended up ordering orange chicken and Mike got the General Tso's chicken.  Both dishes were good, but not really as spicy as we would have liked.  The portion sizes were big-I couldn't finish mine, which benefited Mike, as he was really hungry that day.  It wasn't the best Asian food I've had, but certainly not bad.  I will probably try it again if I'm in the area and want an easy meal.

Beers, Bunnies, and Buddies

This year for Easter, for the first time, we were not in St. Louis to spend time with our families.  So, we decided to go visit our friends, Ashley, Jason, and Mildred in Sugar Land (Houston area).  My husband was able to get off work a little early on Friday and we got off to an earlier start than expected, so we made it there just in time for dinner.  The car ride was good because Cecil naps for short trips and it was much prettier than the last time we drove it, as there were wildflowers and greenery to see this time.  After we let Cecil and Mildred become reacquainted, we headed out to dinner.  We ate at Bombay Pizza Company, which is exactly what it sounds like-Indian pizza.  Since moving, Mike and I have been exploring new foods more often, so we were up for it.  Our pizza was awesome-it had a very thin crust and was covered in chicken, veggies, and had a kick to it.  Mike talked to one of the employees and found out they are coming to Austin soon- excellent, Texas needs some good pizza!  After dinner, we headed to Town Square to pick up some treats at The Sweet Boutique.  We left with a variety of delicious treats including cake pops, cupcakes, and macaroons.  Personally, I tried the red velvet cupcake (a favorite) and it was great!  Saturday morning, Jason and Ashley treated us to kolaches from The Kolache Factory.  For non-Texans, its hard to describe a kolache.  Its almost like a sweet roll with some sort of filling.  The filling can vary from eggs and meat, meat, cheese, or fruits.  Mike and I tried the cheese and bacon and cheese and sausage and both were delicious.  After getting ready, we headed to Houston for some fun.  We started off at POParazzi's Gourmet Popcorn.  They had over 100 different and unique popcorn flavors and prided themselves with making the flavors authentic.  Mike and I got 4 small bags to share including: S'Mores, Reese's, Buffalo Chicken Wing, and Garlic Parmesan.  All the flavors were yummy and we definitely had a hard time making our choices.  While they don't have a store in Austin, we were excited to see that you can order their popcorn online.  From there, we headed to Hay Market for lunch and beer.  I think that Saturday was National Beer Day or something along those lines so we felt that it was our duty to participate.  We tried some great beers and had a delicious lunch. The menu was very unique and had items I would never eat, including liver and tongue.  But there were some tasty options, too.  Ashley and I both ordered the Carolina BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, Mike got a jumbo hotdog, and Jason got something with a bunch of meat.  The food was so good and very filling.  Before heading back to the apartment, we stopped by the Beer Can House to take a few pictures and get a look.  We thought it looked cool, but didn't really feel the need for a tour.  It was nice to see more of Houston as we were driven around in Jason's new Mustang.  After our adventures we were a bit tired, so we went home to watch the baseball game (Tigers v. Red Sox).  All of us-including the dogs ,except Jason, ended up taking a much needed nap.  We then headed to Diego's, a Mexican restaurant, for dinner.  It was new and had a very cool vibe to it.  The food was great, but you could tell there were a few kinks that needed to be worked out still.  By this point, we were all quite stuffed so we picked up a few things at HEB for our brunch in the morning.  Before we left Sunday morning, Ashley(she did most of the work) and I made a quick brunch of pancakes, bacon, and eggs.  The food and company were great and it was a wonderful way to spend Easter.  We had a great time in Sugar Land and Houston and can't wait to hang out with our Texas buddies again soon!

Billionaire

This Sunday I finally caved and we went to a place my husband has been dying to go to since we moved to Austin.  We went to Bill Miller BBQ and Fried Chicken.  It is right by our apartment and my husband comments every time we pass it that we need to try it sometime.  We had nothing planned for dinner and I didn't really know what I wanted, so I said okay.  From the outside, it looks like nothing special, which is why I hadn't rushed out to try it.  Inside, it is very stereotypical Texas decor.  I was hungry for BBQ so I got the Rancher Plate, which let me pick 3 sides and 2 meats.  I ordered turkey, sausage, green beans, hashbrowns, and cole slaw with an iced tea.  My husband got the 3 piece fried chicken with fries.  The BBQ was ok- the sauce needed some improvement and the casing was a little thicker than I like on the sausage.  My sides were delicious so that made me a happy camper.  My husband's chicken was amazing.  The leg was so moist and juicy.  I think next time we come, I will order my favorite sides with the chicken as there is much better bbq in Texas.  However, it was fast, satisfying, and relatively inexpensive-perfect for a lazy Sunday.

Remember The Alamo

Last Wednesday, we went to see The Hunger Games.  We pre-ordered our tickets at the nearest Alamo Drafthouse movie theater.  The tickets were the same price as a typical movie theater, but we were promised that it would be a totally different movie experience.  Upon entering, we saw the line for the movie and the bar.  The line wasn't really long yet, as we left early, because we still aren't used to Austin's rush hour patterns.  We headed straight to the bar, where my husband ordered a beer and I got a frozen sangria.  The sangria was delicious and it was nice to have something to drink while we waited in line.  About 30 minutes before the show began, the line was directed to the theater.  Seating reminded me a little bit of a college lecture hall with seats and tables in front of the seats.  Each set of tables had menus with pens/paper for ordering.  Our waiter came by to explain the process to us.  It took us a bit to make our decisions.  We ordered another beer (husband), an iced tea (me), and hot pretzels with sauces for an appetizer.  While we waited, we watched foreign commercials and old school game shows on the screen.  Later, they showed special spoofs of the Hunger Games before the show.  The pretzel was yummy and came with nacho cheese, spicy mustard, and a jalapeno jelly.  I loved the cheese and mustard, but was not really a fan of the jalapeno jelly.  After pretzels, we ordered our meals-I opted for nachos and my husband got a burger with green chilies and fries.  There were special menu options for the Hunger Games, such as lamb stew, but I wanted to stick to a safer choice.  We were pleased with all the food and the ordering process.  I don't have any pictures today, as Alamo has a strict no cell phone policy, that is strongly enforced.  Use a cell phone during the movie, and get kicked out, no refunds.  It was a cool experience and I will definitely go back and take friends to experience a one of a kind movie theater.

Balls in Your Mouth

For those of you who love Jimmy Fallon, like I do,  you understand the title of this post.  If not, you should love him.  Anyways, this post isn't about tar balls, its about cake balls!  Last Sunday after eating an enormous brunch, I decided we needed some exercise so we hit up the Domain on the way home for some walking and shopping.  It was a great day to be out walking in an open shopping area and as a bonus, there was an art fair going on so there was plenty to see.  We weren't really planning on buying anything, but somehow, we ended up at Austin Cake Ball Kitchen and Bar.  It was really cute and would probably be a fun place for lunch or dinner, but we were stuffed.  We just wanted some balls.  There were several different options, but not so many that it was overwhelming.  We ended up ordering a half dozen to take home for later.  I chose red velvet, carrot cake, and mint chocolate.  My husband selected dark chocolate orange, peanut butter, and chocolate.  We ate them over the next few days and were very impressed.  They had great flavor and texture and several of them also had additives inside them, such as chocolate chips and Andes mints.  I think making cake balls is a bit of a pain, so if I have a craving, I will be sure to hit up Austin Cake Ball Kitchen and Bar again.

Pumping Iron

This past Saturday, my husband spent some time taking a class at Iron Cactus.  He ordered the chicken enchiladas, but noticed that the brunch buffet looked pretty amazing.  We both woke up earlyish on Sunday and I was having a major hankering for some brunch.  So, we headed out to Iron Cactus.  It was crowded, since everyone wants to each brunch on Sunday, but not unbearable.  We waited maybe 10 minutes to get a seat.  We waited another 10 minutes or so for our drink order.  Now, Iron Cactus is known for 2 things-the brunch buffet and their tequila selection.  However, in our rush out the door, my husband left his wallet at home, so he didn't order any adult beverages and I went along with it.  Although, looking back, the mimosas looked amazing.  The brunch buffet was huge and quite diverse.  There were traditional brunch favorites, such as muffins, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, French toast, scrambled eggs, and an omelet station.  There were also Mexican favorites, such as Migas, tortilla soup, chips and salsa, rice and beans, and a fajita bar.  There were even some uncommon brunch items, such as salad, cheese grits, and bread pudding.  My first plate included: salad, chips and salsa, biscuit and gravy, bacon, potatoes, cheese grits, and a pork tamale.  The best part of that plate was the cheese grits and the biscuit and gravy.  The cheese grits were amazing and made me think of many a holiday with my extended family.  They weren't garlicky, but had a little bit of a kick to them.  The biscuit and gravy was almost like a queso gravy with a little bit of spice to it-amazing.  I went back for one more plate even though I knew I'd be stuffed.  My second plate included rice, steak and chicken fajitas, and a piece of French toast.  The French toast was great-I could taste the hints of cinnamon and vanilla.  It was so good, I didn't have to put anything on it.  The fajitas were also amazing with homemade tortillas.  Overall, I would say this is one of the best brunch buffets I've ever tasted and I will to add it to my list of Austin favorites
