Iron Man and Maiden
Last Friday, I was quite excited after scoring a new job and the definite prospects for a second one, so we decided to go out to dinner to celebrate. We were headed out to North by Northwest for some delicious food and beer, but upon arrival realized it wasn't happening that night. There was a rehearsal dinner going on and there were no places to park. Bummer. So, we headed next door to the Iron Cactus. We were able to get seated right away in the bar area, where live instrumental music was playing. We ordered drinks first, a beer for Mike and a strawberry swirl margarita for me. The chips came with two different types of salsa- one was chunky and more traditional flavored and the other was pureed and smoky flavored. We ordered queso as an appetizer and were very happy with our decision. It was so yummy. For our main dish, we ordered the fajitas for two with a combination of steak and chicken. When our food arrived, I was amazed at the sheer amount of it. We had a huge skillet of meat and veggies. We each got our own rice, beans, cheese, guacamole, pico, and sour cream. We also got some wonderful homemade tortillas. The fajitas were amazing. The meat was so juicy and flavorful. We were quite stuffed after dinner, plus we had some leftovers for lunch the next day. It was a great choice, even if by accident.
