Pfestival Pfun in Pflugerville

Last weekend was the Deutschen Pfest in Pflugerville.  I thought it would be fun to attend and see what it was all about.  It reminded me a little bit of Florissant's Valley of the Flowers (from what I remember, I haven't been since I was really young).  It was being held in a park in Pflugerville.  We drove to Pflugerville HS and caught the shuttle (school bus) to the park, as there was no parking there.  We paid the admission fee, which went to the parks department.  Inside, there were crafts, booths from local businesses, kids activities, games, rides, and food.  We walked around several times before choosing our foods.  I got a pretzel and fresh lemonade and then a sno-cone.  Mike picked a gyro, apple fritters, and rootbeer.  The food was great and it was a neat event.  It started getting pretty hot so we left after a few hours.  I took a long nap afterwards because I was so hot and tired.  When I woke up I felt much better, except for my first hint of a sunburn this year.  Pfun times.
